Crochet, for a change

My nephew Bon (not his real name) is the genius who named the blog. I think it's finally time to show some yarn. And the finished products of yarning.

Last month, I made the budding veterinarian, Shmia (not her real name), a zebra rug for the side of her bed.

This summer I completed a few other projects, including:

1) A table runner for the chest in the living room

2) Chair cushions for Mom's kitchen chairs (I owe her 2 more)

3) A cotton rug for my bathroom

4) A curtain, still a work in progress, for the back porch door. View from the inside:

And from the outside:

That's it for now!

  1. Those are beautiful! My grandmother used to crochet (a mile a minute without ever looking at her hands while she watched her "stories" -- the afternoon soap operas). I have some pieces she made, but she worked mostly in white.

The zebra is adorable. You're amazing!

  2. Thanks for your kind words, Jeanne. I also try to crochet while watching TV or reading something online but I'm not very good at it. Your mom sounds especially talented. I really enjoy reading your blog! It's both entertaining and informative. Thanks for taking the time to stop by here.

  3. I am actually working on a bit of thread crochet right now, can you believe it? I have some vintage thread potholders that are falling apart and I haven't been able to find patterns, so I am counting stitches and writing the pattern. Thanks for stopping by my blog and entering the Kaffe Fassett fabric giveaway.
