Giveaways on Blogs

If you're interested in entering some of the many giveaways posted on blogs every day, please visit Win Something  Already. I post a paragraph every day or two about one giveaway that I've entered. The odds of winning can be good, depending on the popularity of the blog and the item offered. I've already won a few for items such as gift cards and tote bags. Some other items recently offered include Oreck and Hoover vacuums, Target and Amazon gift cards and even shoes and purses. If you decide to enter any, I hope you have some good luck!

Flipped, Turned Upside Down

My whole life has changed quite a lot over the past three years. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in the spring of 2007 and have never been the same since. Not long after the illness hit me, I had to sell my house, partly because, being a single mom with a very small income, I could not keep up with the repairs. I moved into an apartment where I lived for the past two years. Just last month, I moved again.

All these events have pushed back the things I want to do and forced me to concentrate on the things I have to do. Any posting on the blog had to wait until after all activity settled down. And while my life is certainly not the way I would like it to be, it is calming down enough to allow me to focus on those things I want to do.

Recently, in between the packing, cleaning, doctor appointments, unpacking, doctor appointments, cleaning, etc., I found a whole blog world full of giveaways! Who knew that you could win gift cards, vacuum cleaners, iPods, tote bags and a host of other items just for filling out a form, tweeting, blogging, etc.?! On occasion, I'd like to share some of those giveaways here.

The giveaway I entered today can be found at a blog called Trying To Stay Calm. She's giving away an Oreck Steam-It, which appears to be a really useful product from Oreck that disinfects and deep cleans. The giveaway ends on Tuesday, March 19.

Crochet, for a change

My nephew Bon (not his real name) is the genius who named the blog. I think it's finally time to show some yarn. And the finished products of yarning.

Last month, I made the budding veterinarian, Shmia (not her real name), a zebra rug for the side of her bed.

This summer I completed a few other projects, including:

1) A table runner for the chest in the living room

2) Chair cushions for Mom's kitchen chairs (I owe her 2 more)

3) A cotton rug for my bathroom

4) A curtain, still a work in progress, for the back porch door. View from the inside:

And from the outside:

That's it for now!
